Bio
After more than a decade in the São Paulo independent scene, most notably anchoring the erratic alt-rock of sukya || porno, multi-instrumentalist and producer Giovani Baroni has engineered a massive creative pivot from his new base in Mexico City. His solo work is a deliberate rebellion against today’s single-driven streaming landscape. Now 30, Baroni builds dense, long-form musical narratives that prioritize unpredictable structures and emotional grit over viral hooks. Operating as an uncompromising auteur, he bridges the gap between the meticulous complexity of progressive rock and the raw vulnerability of Brazilian indie, creating what he calls “music by nerds, for nerds.”
This solo identity took shape after his relocation to CDMX, a move that forced him to abandon old projects and rebuild his artistic process from scratch. Today, Baroni acts as the nucleus of a network of collaborators stretching from Brazil to Berlin, resulting in a trilingual sound that shifts fluidly between Portuguese, English, and Spanish. Heavily influenced by cinematic textures, literature, and oceanic imagery, his music uses aquatic synths, phasers, and heavy delays to mirror themes of internal transformation.
This culminates in his debut conceptual album, bLU, arriving in September 2026: a patient, interconnected 10-track journey designed to be heard from front to back.

Ruído Branco is about wanting everything at once: every dream, every place, every possible version of everything. The idea comes from white noise itself, all frequencies sounding together, and turns it into a digital nostalgic metaphor like the loud static of an old tube TV.

Sleep is a downer single wrapped in a dreamlike haze between emo, shoegaze, and lo-fi Rock Triste. Washed-out guitars, lethargic vocals, half-awake vocals, and jungle-inspired beats.

Stop & Go Station is an intimate, lo-fi and dreamy EP consisting of 4 tracks, shaped by home-recorded textures, and references to 90s video games. Blending Brazilian influences, indie rock, and nostalgia, Giovani Baroni builds a playful yet intricate sound world with echoes of Super Mario 64, Alceu Valença, and The Strokes. Closing track "Transbordar" features Luca Tornato.
